Hi, I am Emily
I'm a project manager and a parent, currently an expat in Vancouver, Canada.
A few years back I moved here with my family. What began as a short-term assignment gradually became a new chapter of life abroad.
How It Started
Moving to Canada wasn’t in our long-range plan. As with many expat relocations, it started as a job chance and soon grew into something far more significant.
The initial months were demanding — fresh processes, new routines, higher expectations. Everyday chores seemed more complex than they needed to be.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, uncertainty, and plenty of learning on the go. Yet gradually routines took shape. We found places that fit us, connected with other families, and began to build something that felt stable.
Why I Built Broad Mist Panel
Most online information was either corporate relocation guidance or shallow tourism content. What was lacking was an honest, everyday family viewpoint.
This site aims to bridge that gap — practical advice drawn from real life in Canada.
What This Site Is (And Isn't)
This site IS:
- Practical insights from living in Canada
- Centered on family life and day-to-day realities
- Updated whenever there is a genuine change
This site ISN'T:
- Not an official tourism authority resource
- A platform for sponsored reviews
- Not just another generic travel blog
Looking Ahead
Our time in Canada continues, and so does the learning journey. As long as the information remains useful, I’ll keep documenting what we discover.
If you have questions about family life in Vancouver or anywhere in Canada, please don't hesitate to get in touch.
Cheers,
Emily
